Love is a practice, not a feeling

Love as a passive feeling comes and goes; you cannot schedule it or rely on it to appear on command. But love as an active practice is something you do with your hands, and that is available to you every single morning.

In my book Why I Love, I explore eight daily practices: telling yourself the truth about what you can do, showing up without an artificial mask, going outside before reaching for your phone, and wanting the truth more than wanting to be right. When it comes to your future, your work, your ideas, and those who struggle, you practice love through quiet action rather than abstract theories.

The authentic feeling almost always follows the daily practice, never the other way around. My new book Why I Love is available for pre-order now, and pre-orders close tomorrow at midnight through the link below.
